Myrtle Beach in sunny South Carolina is a Mecca for golfers the world over with over 100 challenging courses, some of which are in the top 100 in the world. There are a huge range of hotels, villas and condos to choose from and all of which are very affordable. The whole area has grown in the last 10 years and along with the great golf there is superb shopping, over 1200 restaurants and some very lively nightlife at Broadway at the Beach and Barefoot Landing. The opening of the new Hard Rock Theme Park in May of 2008 will give the area a big draw with some very exciting rides themed around some of the world's greatest rock bands.
The whole experience is a delight and attracts millions of visitors during the summer holiday months when the wonderful white sandy beach really comes into its own.
You can access Myrtle Beach Airport from the UK from most regional and main airports although all require a connecting flight in the USA . Other options are to fly from Gatwick to Raleigh/Durham flight on American Airlines but you will have a three hour drive to Myrtle Beach.
