Two great courses on Daufuskie: Bloody Point, a Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish design, is more playable and forgiving than its sister Melrose Course. It is serene and isolated with no homes in sight. It was originally designed as a walking course, so the tees are usually in close proximity to the previous green, and there are no cart paths.
Melrose is a Jack Nicklaus design which winds through the forest, around lakes and always with the feeling that you are the only person on the course. The final three holes emerge onto the shore overlooking Calibogie Sound with Hilton Head Island across the water.
Greenfees include the delightful 50 minute ferry ride where you can see countless dolphins and waterbirds. A great day out.
